In hopes of getting as much experience as possible, we managed to get two teams entered into the Peoria Central meet. The lineups for the meet basically involved throwing the top 14 runners into a hat and drawing for teams.
The Sandburg Gold team captured 2nd place (out of 53 boys teams) and was led by sophomore Sean Torpy in 6th place. Sean's time of 15:06 is the 3rd fastest F/S time in Sandburg history - trailing only Tom Graves and Lukas Verzbicas. Talk about some elite company!
Next up for the Gold was junior Greg Burzinski in 25th place with a time of 15:24. Sophomore Dan Laskero was next in 34th place and a time of 15:35 (a new PR for Danny). The 4th finisher for the Gold was sophomore Chris Torpy in 38th with a new PR of 15:37. He was followed by another sophomore, Max Lehnhardt in 39th place and another PR of 15:38. Junior Brady Walter (with a new PR of 16:00) and senior Matt Hetzler (16:07) also competed for the Gold team.

Senior Will Becker continued his comeback from injury by placing 22nd with a new PR of 15:21. Glad to see WB back on top! Next up for the Blue was senior Justin Adams in 44th with a PR of 15:41.
