First indoor meet of the season is now in the books!
The weather has wreaked havoc on the training so far this year, so it was nice to get inside. Everyone got a chance to get into their first race of the season - to shake off rust and cut loose a bit. We split up the talent three ways for the 4 x 800 meter relay team - with Brennan, S. Torpy, Adams & O'Callaghan coming thru for the win. We had 6 guys under 5 minutes in the 1600. Tommy Brennan (4:47) led the way, with freshman Martin Skucas (4:48) right behind. Brady Walter captured the 3200 meter race and Brian McMahon led the open 800. LaVelle Johnson (6:55) edged Dan Trentacoste (6:56) in the 55 meter dash. Peter Rodriquez threw a huge PR of 48' 7" in the shot put!!! Adam Nash was our top jumper in both the Long Jump and the Triple Jump and Nick Depesa jumps 6' 0" in the High Jump. Complete results are here. We all love the the 4 x 800 meter relay! So all you track fans out there are definitely going to want to be tuned in to this one on Saturday:
We've got the best American 800-meter runners putting together 3 teams to annihilate the American Record of 7:13.94. Nick Symmonds will be leading the Brooks Beasts, Robby Andrews headlines the NY/NJ Track Club and Duane Solomon is bringing his All Stars. Three great lineups! Coverage of the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix begins Saturday, Feb. 8 -- 3:30-5 p.m. CST on NBCSN. http://www.letsrun.com/news/2014/01/4x800-american-record-assault-new-balance-indoor-grand-prix-gets-even-better-duane-solomon-joins-mix/ |
